This is a great biography. Every time, one needs to get interest in what one is doing so it leads to SUCCESS. Nevertheless, God is the author of our success. May you soar higher and higher.

A good experience there Ray, but I tend to wonder how many children your age then still ask this question today, I don't think as much. This then gives me room to thing exposure is really the key-today children get exposed to TVs/ Radios so early. Then I think of Seeding labs/ Africa (or for that matter developing countries) situation and consider it a great championing that the labs main aim is to give this very much needed exposure to African scientists; latest technologies, trainings, fellowships etc. And our destiny in this should always be to bring it back home for the development of our institutions , our science and our research.

Your desire to develop science in Ghana is admirable and also thanks for spoiling it for me Ray, I still thought there were little people living in the radio. Enjoy the new experience...

I'm a little concerned about the gender balance but I'm still excited about the program and I hope they have a wonderful time and learn something of course (look out for Prof Oduro - second from left)

“Tell me and I'll forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I'll understand”... I love this quote and I agree that institutions in Africa should adopt a more participatory approach to teaching and learning. I hope you enjoy the fellowship.

The African private sector is being left out of the funding picture here and I am not sure why. If anything their successful involvement with the nascent research sector will be self-reinforcing for any number of reasons. Might it be that African PHD's perceive the Gate's/Govt. as the default funding partners? American research basic and otherwise was and still is a combination of the public and private sector...It should not be any different for Africa.
